The final part of our 3 Part series has some final great Tips for saving lots of money on all sorts of things that you buy, pay and do every day. Use them and watch your savings account grow!
Before you purchase any large items like cars, appliances or even vacations do your due diligence and shop around for the best price. The time that you spend looking either online or even going to different stores may be well worth it if you can save a few hundred or even a few thousand dollars.
A biggie for most people, avoiding impulse buying can save you a lot of money in the long run. The easiest way is to really take a good, hard look at something and evaluate how much use you will really get out of it. If you want something that you will use only once in a blue moon best to leave it in the store.
Stay away from vending machines unless you have no choice and are super hungry or thirsty. Vending machines have a HUGE markup and usually only stock the junkiest of junk foods. If you can’t get through the day without snacks bring your own from home.
This one is big. Keep your car as long as possible. If it’s running well and not costing you in repairs or wasted fuel keep that car until the wheels fall off. Even if it needs a bit more maintenance it may be much less than the monthly payment.
Speaking of cars, it really pays to not buy a new car. The fact is there are many dealers now that sell used cars with warranties. Also there is a huge market for used cars out there that can get you an excellent vehicle at a fraction of the cost.
If you go to the movies often either go to the matinee or find a ‘Dollar’ movie theatre that shows movies that are out of the main movie houses. This can save you a considerable amount of money.
Finally, plan vacations well ahead of time. The fact is that vacations are necessary to keep our sanity these days but if you book at the last minute you usually pay a lot more. Book a few months ahead of time and keep tabs on airfare and hotel rates and book them when they are on sale to save big bucks.
And there you have it. Lots of great Tips to save you oodles of money practically every day of the year. Take them to heart, use them often and you’ll soon be reaping the benefits in the form of a swelling bank account and an increase in your overall wealth. Good luck!
