Top 3 Personal Budget Spreadsheet Programs

If you’re on a budget, and these days who isn’t, it might seem a bit difficult at times to not only stick to your budget but also understand completely where your money is actually going.

Recently we talked about some of the best budgeting apps available for Android smartphones but, let’s be honest, working on a small smartphone screen isn’t exactly easy. That’s why today we put together a list of the Top 3 personal budget spreadsheet programs that you can use on your laptop or PC. All of them work with either Microsoft XL or Open Office Calc and, even better, can be personalized to whatever your budgeting needs happen to be. Enjoy.

1) Google Drive (various)

These used to be called Google Docs but, whatever name they’re using, these are some of the best personal budget spreadsheet programs to be found today. You can get them for a personal budget planner, simple budget planner and yearly budget template, and all of them will do a great job and are quite wide-ranging. The best is the aptly named Best Personal Budget Planner, which will give you budget summary graphs, a comprehensive budget spreadsheet and much more.

2) It’s Your Money

With 7 free budgeting spreadsheets, It’s Your Money will give you a wide range of options when it comes to tracking your spending and savings. Spreadsheets like Cash Flow, which was inspired by the budgeting methods of financial guru Dave Ramsey, Box and its four-week monthly budget breakdown and more are all well-designed and easy to use. All of them work with Microsoft Excel 2000 or any of the later versions and most will also work with OpenOffice Calc. They’re all free as well, so there’s nothing stopping you from using them.

3) Vertex42

With more than a dozen free spreadsheets that work with Microsoft Excel, OpenOffice Calc and Google Docs, Vertex42 has practically everything you could possibly need to set up and, more importantly, stick to a personal budget plan. Everything from spreadsheets for monthly and yearly household budgets, the same for personal budgets, a Christmas gift budget, wedding budget and even a money manager budget spreadsheet for the kids, you’ll find an incredible amount of useful and easy to use spreadsheets here. The majority of them even come with video tutorials that will teach you how to use them, which is  definitely an added bonus.

All 3 of these spreadsheet programs are excellent, although your mileage may vary as to which one is the best for your particular needs and habits. One thing’s for sure, any one of these 3 is better than using nothing at all.
